IAS, Indian Administrative Service. The dream of millions of young Indians. But the 'reality' of only a handful.
What differentiates the ones who succeed and ones who don't?
Is it hard work? intelligence? smartness? or perseverance?
Too bad. There's no single trait that can help cross this ocean. It's a little bit of every virtue you can think of.
Ponder over this: If IAS is something that can be achieved only by the best in the academics, why then do we NOT have all the IITans, IIMs making it to the final list?
So, if you (feel that you) are an average graduate from an obscure institute and this IAS is an impossible task,
|| Pause for a moment ||
You are goddamn wrong, my friend. With the right way of preparation, you can crack this exam. Doesn't matter who you are! or where you're from. No doubt.
Each year, we have diverse range of candidates making it to the final list, from a student who cracked in his/her first attempt, to an average employee, to a housewife, to a working professional. There's no end to this list. Listen to as many success stories as you can. Get inspired. Also, lend an ear to the failure stories too, if they come across your way, because they teach you how not to do something.
Shed all that-"Oh! I can't", "No, It's impossible". Pack all the negative attitude into a bag and throw it in the trash can.
All you need for this exam is genuine passion. If that passion is channeled properly then perseverance, hard work and everything else required for the exam will fall in place automatically.
Gear up.
All the best.
